The construction and management of national parks entail a robust commitment to preserving the pristine and integral attributes of their natural ecosystems. This endeavor simultaneously serve multiple functions including research, education, and recreation. Ecosystem management, as an interdisciplinary field, necessitates the formulation of adaptive management strategies grounded in profound comprehension of ecosystem composition, structure, and functional processes. The overarching objective of ecosystem management is to restore or maintain the authenticity, integrity and sustainability of these ecosystems, which includes long-term monitoring of critical ecological processes and relevant data to inform ongoing maintenance and management efforts. 　　Ecosystem management occupies a pivotal role within the context of national park development and governance, with its significance manifesting in four primary areas: Firstly, ecosystem management serves as the foundational element for preserving the ecological integrity of national parks. These parks are established primarily to protect extensive natural ecosystems along with their essential ecological processes. Through scientifically informed ecosystem management practices, the normal cycles of material and energy within national park ecosystems can be maintained. Secondly, effective ecosystem management enhances the feasibility of the governance of national parks. The establishment and successful governance of national parks necessitate consideration of the socioeconomic realities within China, particularly the challenges posed by a large population and limited land resources. 　　By implementing rational ecosystem management strategies, it is possible to safeguard ecological health while simultaneously achieving efficient management outcomes at lower costs. This includes facilitating coordination among diverse stakeholders and fostering comprehensive educational initiatives to promote equitable resource sharing at a national level. Thirdly, ecosystem management promotes the sustainable development of national parks. Within the dual objectives of ecological conservation and economic advancement, a delicate balance must be struck. It is essential to harness the multifaceted functions of ecosystems, employing integrated approaches such as technological systems, management frameworks, and ecological compensation mechanisms to optimize the value derived from ecological goods seamlessly. 　　Finally, ecosystem management contributes to enhancing the values of national parks regarding scientific research, education, and recreation. National parks serve as vital arenas for intellectual exploration, wherein the interplay of environment and culture is harmonized. They are also indispensable venues for scientific exploration, educational outreach, and leisure activities.
